Bubble Bread

INGREDIENTS:

1 cup scalded milk
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 packages yeast
2 beaten eggs
4 1/2 cup flour
1 stick butter, melted
1 tablespoon sugar
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Mix the scalded milk, shortening, 1/2 cup sugar and salt together; cool to lukewarm. Then add the yeast, eggs and flour and mix to soft dough; turn out on a floured board. Knead until smooth and not sticky. Place in a greased bowl and cover with a damp cloth. Let rise until double in bulk; punch down and let set for 10 minutes. While the dough is setting, combine the melted butter and 1 tablespoon of sugar in a small saucepan. In another bowl, combine 1 cup sugar, nuts and cinnamon. Make dough into small balls, about the size of a walnut; roll each ball in butter , then into the sugar mixture. Place in greased angel food cake pan, in staggered rows and layers until all dough is used. Sprinkle with remaining sugar mixture. Let rise in warm place until double. Bake in 350 degree oven for 45 minutes. Cool in pan 10 to 15 minutes. Invert on a plate; remove pan. Pull off luscious mouth-watering pieces.
