AWARD WINNING POPCORN BALLS


INGREDIENTS:
1/2 pound popcorn
2/3 cup white corn syrup
2 cups sugar
2/3 cup boiling water
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
2 tablespoons vinegar
2 tablespoons melted butter
2 teaspoons vanilla
1/8 teaspoon baking soda

Pop corn; place in large pan. Combine syrup, sugar, water, and vinegar. Heat to boiling; add cream of tartar. Boil to soft crack stage (270-280). Remove from fire; add butter, baking soda and flavoring. Pour over popcorn and form in balls.
