Tex Mex Chili
INGREDIENTS:
1 pound extra lean beef or ground turkey
1 pound lean stewing beef
1 large onion, chopped
1 can Tomato Sauce
1 can stewed Tomatoes
1 large green pepper, chopped
2 cloves minced garlic
1 can red kidney beans
1.5 cans brown beans
3 tbs chili powder
1 tbs honey
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp allspice
1 tsp red chili pepper flakes
Brown beef and stewing beef in olive oil. Set aside Add 2 tsp oil into large pot. Add garlic and onion, sauté for 5 minutes. Add green pepper, sauté till sweating. Add chili powder. Add both beefs to pot and rest of ingredients, stirring well after each one is added. Salt and pepper to taste. Let simmer for at least 2 hours on low heat. Add more spices as needed before serving. I serve the chili with rolled up flour tortillas or in a hollowed out sourdough loaf. Enjoy!
