White Texas Cake
INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup shortening
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 cups sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 egg whites
1 3/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1 3/4 cup buttermilk
Cream shortening and sugar; add egg whites. Mix flour, soda, and salt; add to creamed mixture, alternating with buttermilk and flavorings.
Pour into greased and floured 15 x 11 inch cookie sheet. Bake for 25 minutes at 350 degrees.
